STATE ROAD 528 CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS
SR 528 Beachline Dallas Boulevard Toll Plaza
In the summer of 2010, the Expressway Authority began building the new SR 528 Dallas Boulevard Plaza. The new plaza is located about eight miles east of the SR 528 Mainline Plaza and will feature four Express Lanes. In addition, new ramp plazas will be built on the eastbound SR 528 Dallas Boulevard off-ramp and the westbound SR 528 Dallas Boulevard on-ramp. This $22 million project is scheduled to be completed in early 2012.
The primary purpose for the Dallas Boulevard Plaza is to create toll equity for customers and bring the cost-per-mile of tolls on SR 528 into alignment with what exists elsewhere on the expressway system. Once open, the Dallas Boulevard Toll Plaza will be $.75. The toll at the Beachline Main Plaza will be reduced to $.75 from $1.50.
